René Šulc

born 1978 / Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic

• This young Czech designer of an international format graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Design Department Zlín. During his studies, he also actuated in the Architecture and Design studio of acad. arch. Jiří Pelcl. He deepened his knowledge of industrial design in the international Summer Vitra Workshop, Domaine Boisbuchet in France and the Crossroads for Ideas workshop, organized by the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office in the UK.

• René Šulc dedicates himself mainly to product design, design of lighting units, furniture, toys and medical aids. The design of his products is very popular among Czech as well as foreign companies.

• He took part in more than 50 exhibitions at home and abroad, from which especially the following should be mentioned: DESIGNMAI in Berlin, DesignAir in Birmingham, Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York or Designblok in Prague.

• René Šulc was awarded a couple of awards for his innovative and high quality products and his products were included into the Czech 100, 100 icons of Czech design project.
