The new glass design of the Polaris ZKC pushes the technical possibilities of two-component luminaires to a whole new level. While the exterior is dominated by luxurious, velvety clear glass, inside lies a highly sophisticated system with an above-standard luminous efficacy in its luminaire category. Together with the choice of three optics (60°, 90°, and 120°), it allows us to smoothly model the atmosphere in the interior and provides the necessary visual comfort with regard to the lowest possible energy demand of the installation.

Concept Demonstration in Practice: Three Faces of One Space
The technology of independent control of the diffuse and directional components has already been successfully proven in practice. The following series of photographs from a real project (where the Polaris ZKC PE luminaire variant was used) clearly demonstrates how the functionality of a room can be changed throughout the day thanks to this two-component system:
Scene 1: Maximum illumination for active work
During normal operation or teaching, the full potential of the luminaire is utilized. Scattered light from the diffuser illuminates the entire space, while the integrated lens delivers the necessary power directly to the work desks and ensures perfect visual comfort.
Scene 2: Pure focus on presentation
During a presentation projection, the diffuse part can be completely turned off. Only the precisely directed vertical light of the integrated lens is used, which precisely illuminates the desk surfaces. With this combination, we achieve the effect that the presentation will be perfectly visible while maintaining maximum visual comfort for taking notes.
Scene 3: Ambient elegance
For stays in the room outside of teaching, it is offered to activate only the light of the outer sphere. Soft spatial light ensures the right conditions for easy orientation in the room and induces a pleasant, calm atmosphere.
